I have had this product for about 2 years. I found it fairly easy to setup, and it had all the features I needed other than a guard tour with skip-to motion detecting camera feature.
After about a year I noticed that the hard drive was no longer overwriting. Tech Support said it was a faulty hard drive, which I replaced only to find on the product reviews that others have had the same problems.
I'm now running the latest firmware and am finding that the recording stops without notice after about 18 hours or so, and that at the same time access to the DVR via the web page or app stops working. I have to reboot to get connected again....and then it stops 18 hours later. Tech support said this was a storage fault(?) and have had me reset the device to factory defaults, and format the hard drive. Its still faulty. Now been waiting 2 days for technical support to respond with their next suggestion...
Its currently about as much use as a chocolate tea pot!

Had this system with 8 cameras. OK to watch in real time and initially was able to play back recorded data but as soon as hard disk became full it would not over-write the old data even though this was selected to the point now where the system just does not recognise the hard drive at all and no recordings are being made.
Rather expensive mistake buying this product. Would not recommend it at all.

Just outside warranty..as always. Total trash since tech support says bad HD causing failed video ports. No HDD light at all. Tried both HDMI and VGA, changed hard drive, still nothing. Total loss, and now bad will towards SWANN products in general because of $$$$ totally wasted.

Poor quality video from cameras, but adequate if you don't need to identify people. System freezes every time I try and put it in standby, have to unplug and re plug every time, so gave up trying to place in standby and have lights on all the time which annoys us when watching TV. Very poor playback function from inadequate hard to use remote control, mouse helps a bit with this but cord too short. Finally got a manual but it explains none of the problems and not very useful. Will have to look for another system, very disappointed considering all the time spent running wires for cameras.
